Adaptive & Inclusive Programs
Movement, structure, and support for every child. Our adaptive program offers inclusive and specialized options designed to meet athletes where they are.

About the Program
At GRIT, we believe every child deserves access to movement, confidence-building, and community through gymnastics. Our adaptive program is designed to support children with a wide range of sensory, developmental, behavioral, and physical needs in a welcoming and structured environment.
We offer both:
- Inclusive classes where children participate in traditional recreational classes with parent support, if needed
- Structured adaptive classes with smaller instructor ratios and individualized support strategies with required parent participation
Understanding the Difference
Our classes are filled with discovery, movement, and guided exploration. We focus on:

- 3:1 athlete-to-instructor ratio
- Structured class format and routine
- Visual schedules and transition supports
- Sensory-aware coaching approach
- Goal-focused skill development
Class Structure Includes:
- Warm up
- Rotate through events/stations

- Sensory regulation opportunities (swing time, bounce time, etc.)
- Closing activity
Best for: Athletes who benefit from smaller groups, predictable routines, and increased instructional support.
Other Adaptive Gym Activities

Adaptive Private Lessons
Private lessons are a great way for our athletes to get 1:1 coach time/support. Parents are required to stay on-site. This is a great opportunity to target individual movement goals with your coach’s undivided attention.
Sensory Play Open Gym
All ages welcome. Participants get to enjoy swings, tumble track, air track, floor, mats, and more under a coach’s supervision. Parent/aide participation required (no drop offs). Enjoy a calm play space open to up to 8 families at a time. Music is kept quiet in the background. A coach is available to keep everyone safe, but we welcome you to explore the gym without the structure of a class. See our class schedule for when we offer this!
We are happy to be approved vendors with the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) and we do accept take third party payments.
