FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
We know you’ve got questions — and we’ve got answers! Whether you’re new to GRIT Gymnastics or a returning family, here’s everything you might want to know about our programs, policies, and what to expect.
Do you offer a free trial class?
Yes! We’re excited to welcome new families. Most of our classes offer a free trial lesson, so your child can experience the gym before committing. Contact us or sign up online to schedule yours.
Do you offer makeup classes?
Yes, we do! If your child misses a class, our system will issue a makeup token that you can redeem through the Parent Portal, by emailing us at info@gritgymnasticsclub.com, or by calling or texting us. You can also use these same methods to cancel a class in advance.
What should my child wear to class?
We recommend a leotard or comfortable athletic clothing. Hair should be tied back, and no jewelry please. Bare feet are best—no socks or shoes on the gym floor.
What class should I enroll my child in?
Most of our classes are organized by age, but we also offer more challenging classes (such as Pre-Team, Advanced, and Competitive Teams) based on skill level. If you’re not sure where to start, reach out—we’re happy to help place your child in the best fit!
How do team invitations work?
- Pre-Team is non-competitive and athletes can join at any point during the year by coach recommendation.
- We also host Team Tryouts on specific dates during the year.
- If you’d like your child evaluated for Pre-Team or are interested in joining our competitive team, please contact the front desk to schedule an assessment.
What are the parent viewing options?
We have a dedicated Family Area with comfortable viewing space, so you can watch your child’s class. There’s also a play space for siblings, a homework table, and a coffee bar for parents to enjoy.
Can I bring my other kids?
Yes! We’re a family-friendly gym. Siblings are welcome to hang out in the Family Area, where there’s a play zone and space for quiet activities.
What are your class ratios?
We care deeply about safety and quality instruction. Our typical coach-to-student ratios are:
- Preschool & Pre-Team: 6:1
- Academy (Recreational Classes): 8:1
- Team: 10:1 (often fewer)
We also adjust ratios (sometimes higher/lower) as needed to ensure the best learning environment.
What if my child has a disability?
We want every child to feel welcome at GRIT.
- Parents/guardians/instructional aids are allowed to join their child on the floor as an aid if needed (with a signed waiver).
- We offer Everybody Moves, a class specifically designed for children with disabilities that require parent support.
- While our facility is ADA compliant, gymnastics involves mats and uneven surfaces. We’re happy to discuss accommodations and work with your family’s specific needs. Just ask—we’re here to support you.
