Preschool Programs
Big Movement for Little Gymnasts
Our preschool programs are designed to help little ones grow strong, confident, and coordinated—all through movement, play, and fun! With age-appropriate gymnastics circuits, supportive coaching, and a focus on motor skill development, each class gives kids the perfect space to explore, take safe risks, and build a love for movement from the very start. Whether they’re crawling, climbing, or cartwheeling, there’s a place for every stage in our preschool lineup.
What We Practice
Our classes are filled with discovery, movement, and guided exploration. We focus on:
Social & Class Skills
- Being near the teacher
- Following simple, one-step directions (e.g. “Put your toes on the red line”)
- Building comfort, safety, and joy in the gym space
- Beginning to recognize routines and transitions
Gymnastics Verbiage & Movement Skills
- Through imaginative play and repetition, we introduce:
- Basic body positions: tuck, pike, straddle, lunge, butterfly
- Simple movement concepts: jump, run, stand on one foot, arms up
- Gross motor actions: walk across beams, hang and swing on bars, climb, balance, and support in inverted positions
- Language for the gym: naming equipment by color, shape, and function (e.g. “Find the blue balance beam!”)
Children are never expected to master these skills on the first try — we gently invite them to explore at their own pace, with encouragement and without pressure.

Our Teaching Philosophy
Our coaches use playful language (like “swing like a monkey!”) and age-appropriate challenges to introduce gymnastics skills. While each coach brings their own personality and rhythm to class, we’re all working toward shared goals: helping your child grow in confidence, body awareness, and joy in movement.
In Caterpillars, it’s not just about gymnastics — it’s about discovery, bonding, and building the foundation for a lifelong love of movement.
