Sensory Sundays at GRIT Gymnastics
At GRIT Gymnastics, we believe every child deserves a place to move, play, regulate, explore, and feel successful in their body.
That’s why we created Sensory Sundays — a calm, welcoming space designed for children who benefit from sensory-aware environments, individualized support, predictable routines, and movement-based play.
Whether your child loves to swing, bounce, climb, crash, spin, or simply explore at their own pace, our adaptive programming is designed to meet them where they are.
Sundays at GRIT
Sensory Play Open Gym
Sundays 9:00–10:00 AM
Our open sensory play gym is designed to provide a lower-stress environment where children and families can enjoy movement together in a supportive space.
Participants can explore:
- Swings
- Tumble track
- Air track
- Mats and soft play equipment
- Floor space
- Obstacle-style movement opportunities
- Sensory regulation activities
We intentionally keep the environment calm and manageable:
- Music is kept quiet in the background
- Limited to 8 families at a time
- Coach supervision for safety and support
- Parent/aide participation required (no drop-offs)
This is not a structured class — families are welcome to move through the gym freely and follow their child’s interests and sensory needs.
Our goal is simple: create a safe, accepting environment where kids can enjoy movement without pressure.
Everybody Moves: Structured Adaptive Gymnastics Class

- Smaller groups

- Visual supports
- Increased instructional support
- Sensory-aware coaching approaches
Features of Our Adaptive Classes
- 3:1 athlete-to-instructor ratio

Our coaches work to balance skill-building with emotional regulation, confidence, body awareness, and FUN.
We know that every athlete is different. Some children thrive with predictability and repetition. Others need movement breaks, sensory supports, or extra time to transition. Our goal is to create an environment where athletes feel safe enough to participate, explore, and grow.
Adaptive Private Lessons
We also offer adaptive private lessons for athletes who benefit from individualized coaching and 1:1 support.
Private lessons are a wonderful opportunity to:
- Work toward individual movement goals
- Build confidence
- Practice regulation skills
- Develop strength and coordination
- Learn at your child’s pace
Parents are required to remain on-site during lessons.
A Supportive Space for Families
At GRIT, we understand that traditional recreational environments do not always work for every child. We strive to create programs that are flexible, compassionate, and genuinely supportive for neurodivergent athletes and their families.
Our adaptive programming is built around connection first. We celebrate small wins, honor sensory needs, and believe movement should feel joyful and empowering.
We would love to welcome your family to Sensory Sundays.
