Sensory Sundays at GRIT Gymnastics At GRIT Gymnastics , we believe every child deserves a place to move, play, regulate, explore, and feel successful in their body. That’s why we created Sensory Sundays — a calm, welcoming space designed for children who benefit from sensory-aware environments, individualized support, predictable routines, and movement-based play. Whether your child loves to swing, bounce, climb, crash, spin, or simply explore at their own pace, our adaptive programming is designed to meet them where they are. Sundays at GRIT Sensory Play Open Gym Sundays 9:00–10:00 AM Our open sensory play gym is designed to provide a lower-stress environment where children and families can enjoy movement together in a supportive space. Participants can explore: Swings Tumble track Air track Mats and soft play equipment Floor space Obstacle-style movement opportunities Sensory regulation activities We intentionally keep the environment calm and manageable: Music is kept quiet in the background Limited to 8 families at a time Coach supervision for safety and support Parent/aide participation required (no drop-offs) This is not a structured class — families are welcome to move through the gym freely and follow their child’s interests and sensory needs. Our goal is simple: create a safe, accepting environment where kids can enjoy movement without pressure. Everybody Moves: Structured Adaptive Gymnastics Class Sundays 10:00–11:00 AM Our Everybody Moves adaptive class is intentionally designed with structure, consistency, and individualized support in mind. This class is ideal for athletes who benefit from: Smaller groups Predictable routines Visual supports Increased instructional support Sensory-aware coaching approaches Features of Our Adaptive Classes 3:1 athlete-to-instructor ratio Structured class format and routine Visual schedules and transition supports Sensory-aware coaching Goal-focused skill development Parent participation required Class Structure Includes Warm up Rotations through events and stations Movement circuits Sensory regulation opportunities (swing time, bounce time, etc.) Closing activity Our coaches work to balance skill-building with emotional regulation, confidence, body awareness, and FUN. We know that every athlete is different. Some children thrive with predictability and repetition. Others need movement breaks, sensory supports, or extra time to transition. Our goal is to create an environment where athletes feel safe enough to participate, explore, and grow. Adaptive Private Lessons We also offer adaptive private lessons for athletes who benefit from individualized coaching and 1:1 support. Private lessons are a wonderful opportunity to: Work toward individual movement goals Build confidence Practice regulation skills Develop strength and coordination Learn at your child’s pace Parents are required to remain on-site during lessons. A Supportive Space for Families At GRIT, we understand that traditional recreational environments do not always work for every child. We strive to create programs that are flexible, compassionate, and genuinely supportive for neurodivergent athletes and their families. Our adaptive programming is built around connection first. We celebrate small wins, honor sensory needs, and believe movement should feel joyful and empowering. We would love to welcome your family to Sensory Sundays. 1. We get the repetitions in… and GET THE SKILLS Camp gives kids time—real time—to practice. They try, fall, try again… and then it clicks. Skills happen here because we create space for them to. 2. Camp games (the magic is real) The games are everything. Laughter, teamwork, inside jokes—it’s where kids fully let go and connect. Ask any camper… it’s usually their favorite part. 3. We use the equipment the “wrong way”… safely Bars, beams, mats—we flip the script. Kids explore, climb, and move creatively in ways that build confidence and body awareness without fear of “doing it wrong.” Fort building is a staple here. 4. We create Craft time gives kids a moment to slow down, make something of their own, and reset before jumping back into the action. 5. We make camp friends Friendships form fast at camp. By the end of the week, kids are cheering each other on and asking, “Are you coming back tomorrow?” It’s fun, it’s a little chaotic, and it’s full of growth in ways that don’t always look obvious—but that’s exactly what makes it so special.

At GRIT Gymnastics, we believe every child deserves the chance to move, play, and feel successful in the gym. Our Adaptive Gymnastics class is designed for kids who benefit from a more individualized, supportive environment while exploring gymnastics. Who: This class is led by Coach Dannah, who brings an incredible combination of gymnastics coaching experience and a background in special education. She has a natural ability to meet kids where they are, helping each gymnast feel safe, confident, and capable. What: Adaptive Gymnastics is all about movement and fun. Kids get to jump, swing, climb, roll, and explore gymnastics skills in a supportive setting. Activities are tailored to each child so they can build strength, coordination, confidence, and independence at their own pace. Where: Classes take place right here at GRIT Gymnastics, in a welcoming environment where every child is celebrated for who they are and what they can do. We also know that parents know their kids best. Some children thrive in our traditional recreational classes, while others do best in our Adaptive class setting. Both options are part of our commitment to making gymnastics accessible, positive, and empowering for every child. If you think Adaptive Gymnastics might be a good fit for your child, we’d love to help you get started. At GRIT, we’re proud to create a space where all kids can experience the joy of gymnastics. 🤸‍♀️ Please note that we take regional center funding and work with third party vendors!

Choosing the right gymnastics team can feel like a big decision for families. Competitive gymnastics requires time, commitment, and trust in the coaches guiding your child every day. At GRIT Gymnastics, we believe that experience should be positive, challenging, and truly developmental for every athlete. That’s why our team tryouts are about much more than just skills. A Different Kind of Gym At GRIT, we’ve built our program around a simple belief: great athletes should also become great humans. Gymnastics teaches incredible things—discipline, resilience, focus, and confidence. But those lessons only truly stick when they are taught in a supportive and respectful environment. Our coaching philosophy centers around: Respectful coaching that motivates rather than intimidates Athlete development that focuses on long-term progress Positive accountability that helps kids grow both on and off the floor Strong communication with families We want gymnasts to leave practice feeling proud of their effort, excited to return, and confident in themselves. Excellence in Sport and in Life Competitive gymnastics is demanding, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our goal is always to develop excellent athletes—gymnasts who are technically strong, mentally tough, and capable of achieving their potential. But we believe success is bigger than medals. Through training, athletes at GRIT learn to: Work through challenges Support their teammates Take ownership of their effort Develop resilience and confidence These are the qualities that carry kids far beyond the gym. Programs Designed for Growth GRIT offers several competitive pathways so athletes can train at the level that best fits their goals and development: Xcel Team – A flexible competitive program that allows athletes to build strong skills while maintaining balance with school and other activities. Developmental Team – For gymnasts who are working toward higher-level competitive gymnastics and want to train more intensively. TOPs Program (invite only) – A specialized training track for athletes demonstrating exceptional potential. Each pathway allows gymnasts to progress in a way that supports both their development and their love for the sport. What We Look for at Tryouts Our team tryouts focus on identifying athletes who are ready for the next step in their gymnastics journey. Coaches evaluate a combination of: Fundamental gymnastics skills Strength and body awareness Coachability and focus Work ethic and attitude Sometimes the most important qualities aren’t the biggest skills yet—they’re the determination, curiosity, and perseverance that signal long-term potential. The Right Environment Matters Kids thrive when they feel supported, challenged, and respected. Our mission is to create a team culture where athletes push themselves, celebrate each other’s progress, and grow into confident young people. We believe that when the environment is right, great gymnastics follows. Join Us at Team Tryouts If your gymnast loves the sport and is excited about growing in a positive, athlete-centered environment, we would love to meet them. Our team tryouts are a chance for families to learn more about GRIT and for our coaches to see how each gymnast might fit within our program.
